The manors located in the Šakiai and Vilkaviškis district municipalities are attracting increasing interest from visitors. The Kazlų Rūda municipality fosters the idea of ,,different“ tourism – slow, without technology, utilizing the local natural potential or even objects reminiscent of the Cold War era. The revival of Jewish heritage is being fostered in Kalvarija. Street art is becoming the calling card of Marijampolė. Every year, new drawings on the city’s buildings attract the attention of not only local but also foreign tourists. This is the result of an annual, unique project of global artists, combining Marijampolė, London and New York. The region has a unique complex of mounds – the Sudarga Mounds. In historical, archaeological and cultural terms, this complex is considered one of the most important after the Kernavė mounds.
